Russia:  Winterkill includes total winter-crop losses attributable to unfavorable fall and winter weather, including fall drought.  Over the past eleven years, winterkill in Russia has ranged from 7 to 27 percent of sown area, with average winterkill of 13 percent.  In four of the past five years, winterkill has been below average.  Rosgidromet estimates 2006/07 losses as of early March at 18 to 20 percent.
